K15: Insecurities Vinyl 2LP

K15: Insecurities Vinyl 2LP

K15 steady on the rise. The London-based producer killed it softly on the r&b / downtempo tip with the now-sold out Mist 7", and now we finally get a repress of his in-demand double 12" from 2014. Insecurities takes the best from 90's deep house and crafts something fresh, yet familiar - and ultimately very groovable.  The obvious cut here is "GWRH" that borrows chords from Crystal Waters and puts them atop heavy kicks and loose percussion for a sun-kissed groove that is an irresistable calling card to the dancefloor. This vibe continues on the title track "Insecurities," with meandering pads that take you mind away while the solid beats keep your body in motion. Also check the Hidden Agenda sampling "The Story Of Her Life" for more repurposed 90's house goodness, and the deep Detroit piano house grooves of "Yellow." The first pressing sold out swiftly to those in the know (and ended up catching loot on the second hand market), but thankfully Kyle Hall's Wild Oats imprint did the right thing and gave these jams a well-deserved repress. Don't miss it this time around, recommended.
