Panda Bear: Person Pitch Vinyl 2LP

Panda Bear: Person Pitch Vinyl 2LP

Swirling solo album from Animal Collective's Panda Bear. The first thing that strikes you here is the wild psychedelic artwork, followed by the Nurse With Wound-esque list which cites what I'm guessing are some of Senor Panda's big musical influences. It makes sense, 'cause there's a lot of different styles here, starting with the Brian Wilson gone tribal opener, "Comfy In Nautica." Next up is "Take Pills," which starts with some found sounds beats straight out of the Dancer In The Dark soundtrack and then morphs into a weird tambourine dirge. There's a pair of epic psych-folk burners, "Bros" and "Good Girl," both of which clock in at 12+ minutes. This shit is pretty crazy, and it's better (i.e. more replay value) than most of the recent Animal Collective stuff. 7 tracks; 45 minutes. Recommended.

  • breakthrough solo album from Noah Lennox of Animal Collective
  • first widely available reissue in 15 years
  • black double vinyl pressing
  • housed in gatefold jacket w/ printed insert
  • original release year: 2007
  • music label: Domino 2022
