Shinichi Atobe: Butterfly Effect Vinyl 2LP

Shinichi Atobe: Butterfly Effect Vinyl 2LP

Full length debut from the elusive Shinichi Atobe, finally available on vinyl. Best known for his sole 12" on Basic Channel's Chain Reaction imprint from 2001, Shinichi Atobe came and went with a flash, pretty much disappearing from the scene until now. Big up to the dudes from Demdike Stare (who are apparently huge fans of said 12") who put in the leg work to seek out Atobe, and miraculously, made contact to put together this full length album of unheard material. It's an 8 track journey through genius-level deep techno and abstract ambience that totally sucks you in.  Peep the floating vibes of "Free Access Zone 1," or the grooving "Free Access Zone 2" and "Free Access Zone 5" for a taste, then get lost in sound on "Waste Land 1 & 2" and "Butterfly Effect." If the Lab is any indicator of the brilliance of this album, just know we have been all sweating it ever since we first heard of its release, and almost everyone in the office has copped. Well recommended.
