Another outstanding collection of hard to find Afro Disco rarities from Supafrico. Volume 8 kicks off with South Africa's Margaret Singana's ultra funky cover of the Stretch classic "Why Did You Do It." It's an excellent take on an already great song. "Hey Macumba" comes from John Ozila's 1978 album, Africa Goes Disco. It's an uptempo number with plenty of chanting and some Santana-ish guitar work for good measure. Andy Gibb's hit "Shadow Dancing" gets a superb cover from Sweet Talks, it just might be better than the original. Smother and funkier, it's more of what you've been asking for. The set closes with another cover, this one in the guise of an original. The Movers' "Disco Push" is a highly sought after take on Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up." Late 70s South African disco at its finest.
